The Quercus collection at Starhill Forest has been documented in the form of a digital herbarium. The images of the oaks in this database are of living trees within the collection (unless noted). Each entry has two photos:
1. A photo of fresh foliage with a scale bar against a black background
2. A photo of the entire tree with a two-meter scale bar

Some traditional herbarium specimen collected at the Arboretum are kept on file in the collection at Illinois College. They can be viewed upon request. There is not a pressed specimen for each of the plants in this digital collection.
